Boarding

Our Abbey Pet Hospital kennel staff provides a comfortable home away from home with experienced caregivers. Our facility is small and our staff will quickly know your dog or cat by name and give them lots of love and attention. We provide food, fresh blankets and towels along with classical or soft jazz music playing throughout the day to keep our friends calm and worry free. You also have the option of 15-20 minute private walks along the El Cerrito Greenway.

Our kennel is open 6 days a week including Saturday until 2pm. The kennel is closed on Sunday although staff members including a technician are here throughout the day taking care of our four legged friends. We offer runs and various size cages for the dogs. They are also placed in runs two to three times a day. Before we leave every evening a technician does a final walk through making certain every pet has fresh water, a clean cage and a soft blanket before we turn the lights out.

All pets that are boarding are required to be current on vaccinations. For the dogs that includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella (kennel cough) and also be flea and internal parasite free. For cats, we require Rabies, FVRCP, and be flea and internal parasite free.

Although we do board cats in our facility we recommend the Feline Bed and Breakfast, which is located in the front of our building. The cat-only boarding is much quieter and has a great staff. Please stop by for a tour or check them out online. It’s the purrrrfect boarding facility for your kitty.
